1886 Type II ($5,000/20,000) brings a tremendous price in the gem red grades where they are rarely found, and even nice RBs have sold for increasing prices recently. The huge differential between this and the Type I is a fairly recent phenomenon. Earlier the difference in availability was largely unknown. The two finest known examples are imaged below.
