Mint State 64 (MS64)
Very few minor spots or nics, often with light contact on the cheek, but with attractive eye appeal -- the best from a typical group of mint state cents. The strike can range from average, with some weakness on the key points, to very good but downgraded due to other problems.
The best have the look of a full gem, spot free and lustrous but with too much contact or weakness of detail to make MS65. The worst are obviously below gem level -- blotchy, dark toned, or heavily spotted.
